Lydia Deakin

Born and bred in Wellington, I’ve spent my entire career immersed in the people, properties and communities that make this region such an incredible place to live. My journey began on Lambton Quay, where I spent 10 years working in a leading pharmacy while studying at Victoria University, completing a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology. This early experience taught me the foundations of exceptional service, communication, and care—skills that have shaped my approach to real estate ever since.

I first entered the property world in the 2000s with Leaders Real Estate in Kilbirnie, later becoming a personal assistant to highly respected agent Tony Crammond. After gaining invaluable insight into high-level real estate practice, I trained as a professional real estate photographer, working with agents across the entire Wellington region. This unique skill set has given me a strong eye for presentation, marketing and detail—key strengths I bring to every home I represent.

Alongside this, I launched Royal Property Management in 2009, successfully growing it for over a decade before selling. After a short break, I established Avery Rental Management, which I continue to operate. With over 15 years’ experience managing investment properties across Wellington and Kapiti, I offer clients deep understanding and practical knowledge that adds real value to both buyers and sellers.

In recent years, I made the decision to return to real estate sales so I can support clients across their entire property journey—from purchasing and marketing to long-term investment strategy. Now living on a lifestyle block in Kapiti, I also bring firsthand experience of lifestyle and rural-edge properties, understanding exactly what buyers in this market look for.

With over 20 years of experience in the domestic electrical market, I’ve had the privilege of running a successful electrical business in the greater Wellington region. In fact, my involvement in preparing homes for market quickly honed my skills in selling homes. I put my abilities to the test by successfully selling my own home with Southern Star Realty, achieving a premium price as the lead salesperson.

Elaine’s corporate career accelerated in Government, scouted out by talent agencies, taking her to several Ministries & SOE. Elaine applied her enthusiasm & high energy to support delivery of Multi agency National Projects; including alternative Policy, IT, Property Refit & Procurement.
